The Atlantis Asian Fund aims to outperform the MSCI Far-East ex-Japan Index over the longer term. The investment objective is to achieve long term capital appreciation through an actively managed portfolio of equity and equity related instruments issued by companies listed in Asia ex-Japan.
The Fund is benchmark agnostic, long-only and fully invested.
Investment Style
The Fund invests in all-cap undervalued companies in the Asia ex-Japan region with undiscounted changes, with the expectation that the value will eventually unlock when a catalyst manifests itself in the next 6-12 months. The time horizon could be longer if the Fund Manager recognizes there are more discounted changes not fully reflected in the market.
Investment Strategy
The Fund Manager targets undervalued companies with a catalyst for outperformance. The investment process begins with stock screen based on theme, industry, sector or country within the Asia ex-Japan region. The undiscounted changes therefore are not confined to changes within the company but also business environment the fund operates in or in the global economy. Intensive fundamental research and thorough analysis on top companies will generally involve company visits and/or employing internal analytical models to evaluate the stocks.
